Last Sunday in Catskill, NY, I spent the afternoon on Zoom with my old friend, Matt Marble, who is an artist, author of Buddhist Bubblegum: Esotericism in the Creative Process of Arthur Russell , and the audio producer and director of the American Museum of Paramusicology chatting about the tarot, the divinatory and the research as an ephemeral practice before I read his tarot. I strongly suggest subscribing to the AWP journal and his podcasts.
Obviously, I played some Arthur Russell, and we decided to go with “Being It”, which is one of my all-time favorites for how it makes me want to move like a ballerina in my mind. I open the show with a song I can’t stop listening to called “Tile by Tile” by Alvvays, and we played a little from Matt’s record The Living Mirror and a fraction of “Mystery Lady” by Masego before going over time.
Thanks for all the encouragement on this new project, it’s really bringing a smile, and I am glad for the response so deeply.
NOTE: I doubt anyone will notice, but I flipped the imaginary script so that I will always post my essay post before the radio show post. But I did, and it was just something I needed to do this month. We will center our focus on the heart- healing properties of Hawthorn, what heartbreak teaches us within the Two of Swords, and the expanse of The World card.
You’ll develop confidence to read for yourself or others as we show off our favorite decks, experiment with new or familiar spreads.
Ground and expand your divination practice in community and relationship to the natural world we live in.
